March Madness (Week #2)

Mikes parents left on a Tuesday. My parents were scheduled to fly in on Friday. Savannah’s state meet was Friday evening. My mom and dad tried to get on and earlier flight so they could see the meet. No such luck. Every flight was completely booked. To add insult to injury their original flight got reschedule for Saturday. We were sad they were unable to be there.

But, SAVANNAH DID AWESOME! We are so proud of her for standing tall and firm in her beliefs. She stuck her beam routine, it was beautiful. Her floor routine was fantastic. Vault is always a bit of a struggle, but not too bad. Savannah shines on bars. She placed in every event save one (vault). She placed 15th All Around. We are so proud of her.

March Madness (Week #1)

March started with a black eye for Logan, a new orthodontic appliance for Savannah and a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Baugh for all of us. Jay and Kathy are really good about coming to visit often. It’s nice that they can because the kids really get to have their undivided attention when they come here. I always feel like I need to apologize to Kathy when she leaves. I know she’s got to be exhausted. She does laundry 24/7 the whole time she’s here. It used to bother me that she wanted to do my laundry. In my immature way I felt like she didn’t think I was doing a good enough job. I now know that she just wants to help out and is glad that she can do it. I’m glad too, I hate laundry. It’s my nemisis. Just when I think I’ve got it done someone changes clothes or take a shower. Oh, Well. Boo, Hoo, Hoo.
Anyway, the weather was great while they were here and we were able to play outside in the dirt. Emma Grace and Logan had so much fun. Emma Grace actually told Grandpa that, “No, I no go inside to change my bum. Mommy not let me stay outside. I not gonna do it.” What a mean Mommy.
Grandpa really knows how to play in the dirt.
Alyssa decided to dig a hole to China. She got pretty far, all the way up to her waist!
Savannah worked on a tunnel through the dirt pile. Here’s her shoe.
What a happy messy face!
I Love you, Lo Lo!
After a long day of diggin' it's nice to sit back and relax!

Mike left a day before his parents for a 3 day trip to Utah.

Future Mother of the Year!

My Alyssa has a natural maternal instinct about her. I can always count on her to keep a sharp eye on the babies. She points out potential dangers to me. When we were jumping on the tramp yesterday and Emma Grace wanted to come on she immediately hopped off the tramp to help her get up.

All of this TLC does not go unnoticed by her little baby brother and sister. They love her so much. When Alyssa needs attention they are right there for her.

Happy Birthday, Buggy!

Happy Birthday, Buggy!
Emma Grace loves her buggy. We have hauled ourselves back into numerous stores, searched the church, and dissected the neighbors couch in search of the much loved caterpillar. The people at Kohl’s thought I was a little bit nutty when I insisted they put out an all employee alert for the thing. Some of them, the moms, smiled and nodded when I explained that it was quite possible that we would never get to sleep again if we didn’t find it.
So, when Savannah baked a beautiful double decker cake for family home evening Emma Grace decided that it must be for Buggy’s birthday. I think she said, “Thank You, Nanna.” 150 times. We broke out the candles and sang to buggy. Emma Grace was in heaven.

Say Cheese

Lately Logan has started to parrot. It’s really cute. This morning he told Alyssa “love ya” when we dropped her off at school. He’s says thank you, and doggy (goggy).
But I didn’t know he knew how or when to say “cheese”. Last night Alyssa put a scrunchy on his head. He was so funny with it on. He was dancing and playing the drums. I ran to get my camera. When I told him to say cheese, he looked right up at me and said, “cheese”. Plain as day followed by a big old cheese.
Check it out.

Things I don't want to forget

Yesterday Savannah got her Herbst appliance put in. It is really quite cumbersome to her. The thing is massive! She's trying to have a good attitude, but she broke down in tears several times last night and this morning. I really don't blame her.

Alyssa is a very tender hearted little lady. She wants so badly to take care of Savannah. Last night the three of us (me, Alyssa, and Savannah) were talking on Alyssa's bed. Alyssa got this funny look on her face and just blurted out, "I just love you guys. Is it OK if I just hug you?" She gave me a big long hug and one to her sister as well. I feel that way sometimes too. My feelings are just too huge to be contained. I was glad that her BIG feelings were loving ones.

This morning Mike gave Savannah a blessing to help her with her writing test at school as well as with her mouth. The girls and I were there with them. After the blessing Mike was telling his girls how much he loved them and wishing them a happy day. When he got to Emma Grace he asked her if she was going to nice to Lo-Lo today. She sighed and said, "No." It was so cute and true and funny. All of us busted up. He then asked if she could at least try to nice. She replied, "OK Daddy. I lub you."

Mike told me last night that he knows my job is hard and that he knows it frustrating sometimes. He then told me that he knows it's the most important job in the whole world and that he's glad I'm willing to do it. I'm glad to be married to a man who respects motherhood. He's the best. Love you.

You Buggin' Me!

After taking my babies to the doctor for the 100th time in a month, she finally came out and said it. It's time to get rid of the binkie!

Oh, the humanity! What will I do without the crutch of a binkie?

So, I went home and snipped the top off of most of our binkies. Neither of my babies will have anything to do with the "holes ones". When asking for a binkie Emma Grace specifies "no holes". If given a snipped bink Logan immediately spits it out with a huge raspberry spitting session.

Yesterday I was carrying Emma Grace past the binks. She looked at those holy binkies and yelled (super loud) "THOSE HOLY BINKIES ARE BUGGIN' ME!"

It was priceless! I laughed really hard and then scrambled to find the regular binkie so we could all get some sleep.
