5th grade lunch on the lawn/ 5th grade walk- May 2012

A fun tradition at Harbins elementary is the lunch on the lawn.  The last day of school lunch is eaten on the lawn.  A DJ spins age appropriate tunes and the kids eat, sing, dance and play the last day away.

Another Harbins tradition is the 5th grade walk.  All of the graduating 5th graders take their last walk through the halls of the school.  It's pretty emotional.  The principal talks of the PA system about what great kids they are and how fabulous their future will be.  Alyssa had the opportunity to be a peer leader.  This means that she was assigned a kindergarten class to take care of and love.  And LOVE she did.  They loved her right back.  She is a good little teacher and a great friend.

Another great concert under our belts!  The kids were great.  My greatest joy is to watch my kiddos sing.  The joy on their faces speaks to my heart.

America the Beautiful

Utah- April 2012

This has been an extremely tough year for Mike's parents.  Because of Kathy's cancer treatments they have been unable to come visit.  So, we packed up during spring break and headed out to visit them.  Of course a trip to Utah would be incomplete if we didn't hit the ski hill.  Unfortunately, the hill closes on April 1st.  Did that stop us?  Oh, no!  We took our sleds and enjoyed the snow anyway.  WEE!!!

It was a nice trip being able to try and lift Kathy's spirits.  My mom was upset because we didn't see her very much.   But, I guess you can't please everyone.  It seemed really important to be with Grandma Baugh.

Garden-2013

Baugh Garden take 2.  We'll see how it goes.  We always do great in the beginning and then everyone loses interest.  We'll see.

Nan runs track- spring 2012

Savannah is so fun.  She is talented at so many things, but really she's just out to enjoy life.  Her smile is contagious!  Track was no different.  She did high jump, and hurdles.  She ran the 1600 and was part of a relay.  She didn't break any records, but she had lots of fun.  Her and her friend Emily ended the season by jumping in the lake.
