Gingerbread village- Dec.

I'm not a huge fan of this tradition. I think it's a waste of perfectly yummy candy. And, who likes Gingerbread, anyway? But my kids think it's fun. So, when I found a christmas village for the same price as a gingerbread house, I was sold.

This one is my favorite. She really did do this all by herself.

trim up the tree

We struggled with our lights this year. Especially frustrating is when the lights on the pre-lit 12 footer aren't working. Mike couldn't fix them. Jay took his turn. In comes the mighty Betsy who actually read the instructions on the "fix your lights gun". I got em' on, no problem. Emma Grace and Logan thought it was so cool they tested every light on the tree. Almost.

It was Logan's turn to put the star on top of the tree.

He did a great job.

Oh Christmas tree- Nov.

Hunting for the perfect Christmas tree is a tradition at our house that happens the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year we found a great big, beautiful, fresh tree at the little country store just down from our house. I can't resist taking pictures of my kids with the fun boughs as a back drop.

Nut hunting with a couple of cute nuts-Nov.

Mike took the big girls to shoot guns! In order to calm my beating heart I took the little ones "nut hunting". We needed to find lots of nuts of all different sizes. When I realized that we were locked out of the house. Lots suddenly turned into TONS AND TONS of nuts. Thank goodnes for my sweet little nut hunters.

Ready for anything

This is gonna be fun

thankful for Grandpa-Nov

This Thanksgiving I started a new tradition. I bought a table cloth that we are going to write what we are thankful for. I think it will be fun. I imagine my kids telling their kids about it and showing them what they were thankful for when "they were their age". When I asked Logan what he was thankful for he didn't even skip a beat. "GRANDPA"

feeding the garden-Nov.

Mike learned that to rejuvinate the soil in the garden we should add leaves. Lots and Lots of leaves. Logan and Emma Grace thought it was a great idea.
