Sunday afternoons

The girls use Sunday afternoons to work on their “Faith in God” goals. This Sunday I was surprised by a double whammy boost to my ego.
Savannah was to choose one of her personal hero’s, write a list of the characteristics this person exhibits, and then choose two to work on in her own life. She chose her Momma as her hero! I’m so honored. I know the time is not far distant that she will think me more of a nuisance than a hero, but I’m just going to enjoy today.

This is what she wrote:

Things I like about Mom!

*helpful

*kind

*not a bug

*cleans up after herself and others too

*does anything in her power to help

*does not steal, cheat, or lie

*keeps the commandments

*keeps her standards high

*keeps the gospel standards

I’m so pleased that these are the things she sees in me. Not always, but most of the time, these same things could be said right back to her. (She chose to work on not being a bug, and cleaning up after herself. Good choices.)

Alyssa needed to write a letter of appreciation to someone who has made a difference in her life. She chose me! Here’s what she wrote:

Dear Mom,

I love you soo much! I appreciate how you have helped me overcome my habit and how you always do stuff for me. I try to respect you in any why I can. I love you!!

Love,
Alyssa
