Esther and I decided it would be super fun to do and obstacle race.  We were right!!!  It was fun.  But, it was also VERY cold.  It was a 5K race with all kinds of obstacles.  Diego, Esther's nephew, and Patrick joined us.  It was actually a miracle that just 7 months after Patricks accident that he was able to complete the race.  Esther was VERY nervous about him doing the parts where we had to crawl on our stomachs.  He did great.  It was super fun until I inhaled foam.  Yuck!  It got in my lunges and I was coughing all over the place.  The race was held at the Atlanta motor speed way.  They had showers for us to rinse off in.  Thank GOODNESS!!!  We were a huge mess.  After the race I hopped in my car and went to the soccer field.  I looked horrible, but what's new?  However, when I showered again when I got home I still had tons of mud in all my nooks.  My ears were just gross.  I hope we can do another one of these races.  It was a blast.

FHE fun- March 2013

For Family Home Evening we tried out the the sac race bags I bought for the Preschool Easter egg hunt.  It was a hit!  I'm not really sure what Gospel principle this activity covered, but it was fun family time.

Who Won?

Oh, Yeah!  This Kid!!!

She's little, but she's fierce
Nan ran track this spring.  Her best event was the mile, but they made her do some "field" events as well.  She threw the discus and the shot put.  She tried hard.  It's not really her thing, but we are proud of her for trying.

Spring Break in the Mountains- March 2013

This year we decided to rent a cabin in the mountains for spring break.  It was so much fun!!!  The cabin was huge and the best part is it had a hot tub.  It was cold outside, but the kiddos didn't even care.  They had so much fun.  We have a friend in the ward, Brother Ash.  He has some property in Blue Ridge.  We rode our 4-wheelers there.  There were a few touchy spots, but we made it out alive.  It was a longer ride than we anticipated.  So, I had to teach the girls to go pee-pee in the woods.  SHH! don't tell anyone.   The whole trip was awesome.  Spending time with our kids away from the computer/ipad/cell phone/ TV is the best.  We really got to just be together.  Families are Forever.

True Love- March 2013

Alyssa begged and pleaded for this dog.  Years and years later, she got her wish.  She loves Ollie to the moon and back.  Not necessarily when it's time to feed him or tuck him in at night.  But, for the most part it's a friendship made in heaven.
A Girl and her Dog
Ollie is a super fantastic runner.  We like to go to Tribble Mill part to log our miles.  He keeps me going.  He would prefer to run with Mike because he's a lot faster.  But, I'm a slow second.  He sticks right by my side and looks at the happy dogs like they are crazy if the bark at us.  He never barks back.  He's a good boy.

Savannah's 8th grade dance- Feb. 2013

Savannah's school does a Valentine's dance.  All the 7th and 8th graders dress up nice, have dinner, and then dance the night away (Until 10:00).  It was challenging to find a dress that she liked and that was modest.  I think we found the perfect one.  She looks so beautiful in blue.  It brings out the color of her eyes and the red hair helped too.  Super cute kids.  Super fun night.

Alyssa's pre-season soccer tournament Feb. 2013

Alyssa plays on the Academy team at the Dacula Soccer Club.  She has been so blessed to be put on a team with a group of girls that LOVE each other.  They get along on and off the field.  They trust each other on and off the field.  The come from a million different backgrounds but they are best friends.  I love hearing them shouting "good job" or "YES" while they're playing.  Alyssa needs to be surrounded by girls who can see all the good in her.  She has found that in her soccer team.
