Government screws up my race

My mom and I decided that it would be a great idea to run a half marathon through several national parks in West Virginia.  We would run past several Civil War battlefields and monuments.  It would be so Historical and awesome.  

And then the Government shut down.  The race route changed.  We had nothing to do because we were planning to tour the parks we ran through for the rest of our trip.  

But, I got to spend the weekend in a new place with my mom and sisters.  I mostly enjoyed being with Karen.  We also got to see Baltimore harbor.  It was a good trip.

Emma Grace decided it was time to learn how to ride a two wheeler.  Logan decided that anything she could do, he could do too.  I can just imagine these two pushing each other to do great, and terrible things.

Labor Day/Beach Day 2013

We have a favorite beach, Navaare beach in Florida.  It's peaceful, family oriented, no hotels, quiet, beautiful.  This year we were able to run away over Labor day and enjoy the sun and sand.  A quick trip to the Navy Airbase was a highlight as well.  I love my family.  I love spending uninterrupted time with them all together.  It seems like it takes them a good day to settle down and enjoy the magic of the beach life.  Slow creative, beach life.  Love it.
