Nan's braces come off- January 2013

We knew we were in trouble, orthodonticly speaking, with this girl.  We started sucking her thumb in the womb.  No seriously, we saw it on the ultrasound.  She has had an overbite her whole life.  5th grade was the golden year to start correction.  Mrs. Headly was the perfect teacher to love on my girl while she was getting used to the most invasive appliance I have EVER seen.  Getting actual braces on was a huge relief after the Herpst.  Three years later, it's time to take it all off and see the results of our investment.   We are in trouble.  She is absolutely beautiful.  She looks instantly 5 years older.  I asked the orthodontist to put them back on, but he refused.  (sigh)
Herpst appliance. 5th grade.  The Journey Starts.

Snowcation- January 2013

For New Year's we took a trip to Utah.  We decided it was time to teach the little ones how to ski.
I'm going to go ahead and admit here that we probably should have waited another year.  Logan HATED it!!!  He cried the whole time.  I couldn't get through his head that he just had to stand up and enjoy the ride.  He was like a limp noodle.  He kept folding over like Gumby.  He had fun swinging on the swing set that they have by the bunny hill.  Emma Grace did better.  She could turn, and stop.  But, it's tiring for little teeny ones to ski.  By half day, they were toast.
The best part of our trips to Utah is sledding behind the 4-wheeler at Grampa's house.  Mike pulls them for hours.  They will only come in when he's too cold to stay out any longer.  And even then he gets the, "Please, please, please Daddy!  One more time!"  They LOVE it.
Utah is beautiful in the winter.  It's fun that we can go visit and then come home to our Southern home.

Letters to Santa- 2012

Pre-school music program Dec. 2012

One of the best parts of Christmas time are the Christmas programs. Emma Grace and Logan's preschool does a cute little musical pagent. Emma Grace got to say a speaking part and Logan was a wise man.

My kids love their teachers and firends at school. I was hesitant to put my kids in a baptist preschool. But all four of them have loved and been loved at the Lawrenceville 1st Baptist preschool.

Savannah birthday party Dec. 2012

Savannah turned 14!!!  I'm am still absolutely certain that I am not old enough to have a teenager that belongs to me.  But, if I must be old, I couldn't have asked for a better teenager to associate with.  We did an extreme room make-over for her this year.  New decor, new bedspread and pillows.  She loved it.

Savannah wanted to go Christmas carolling and roast smores for her party, but the day ended up being EXTREMELY cold.  So, some quick thinking later, we had a Hunger Games party.  All the girls had a blast.

During the party Sister Seabrook and Kara Seabrook showed up to welcome Nan into the Mia-Maid group at church.
