Nashville Rock 'n Roll half

Having the same best friends as you did in high school twenty years later is virtually unheard of.  But, I'm so blessed to say that my best friends are the same.  I love them.  They love me and all my craziness.  We can go for months without talking and pick right back up where we left off.  Im not exactly sure why we feel like we need to run 13 miles when we get together, but we did this time.  It was a great weekend with even better friends.

Flat Stanley- April 2012

My neice Amalia sent me Flat Stanley.  Flat Stanley is a character from a book series for elementary age kids.  he book is about a little boy, Stanley, who tragicaly gets smashed flat.  But, because he's flat, he can be folded and mailed around the world and have lots of grand adventures.  So, the class each made their own Flat Stanley, mailed them away to have and adventure,  we were supposed to show Stanley the sights of our area and send him home with lots of new stories to tell.

Looked OK after the patch up.  I'm glad Amalia sent me her Stanley.  I sent him home with a new Geaorgia Bulldog jersey and a matching one for Amalia.  Becca said that she wore it every day for weeks. 

Alyssa soccer- spring 2012

Alyssa continues to enjoy soccer.  She's the tiniest thing on the field, but she's fast as lightening.  It's fun to watch her when she gets her head in the game and focuses on the ball.  Unstoppable!

Alyssa joined the PE club at school.  They met after school to work out and prepare to run a 5K race.  The group was quite an exclusive bunch.  To be accepted into the club, each child was required to write an essay about why fitness is important and what their personal goals are.  they also needed to make a commitment to be at practice each week.  

Alyssa and her buddy Natalia decided to go for it.  After months of training hard, the big day came and they completed the race!  Way to go Alyssa.

I was unaware until this day that there was such a thing as a "hat trick" in soccer.  What, you may ask, is a hat trick?  Is it a wicked awesome move that a player can pull on the field?  Is it an actual magic trick that includes the use of a hat?  No!  That would be far too obvious.  A hat trick is when a single player scores three goals in one game.
That's right!  You understood me correctly.  Alyssa Inez Baugh scored 3 goals in her soccer game today!!!  Way to go Sister!!

One of our kids favorite traditions is the Baugh family egg hunt.  We invite everyone we know to come over and join the hunt.  It's an easy, no stress, fun time with friends.  Hope our kids will always want to do it.
