Pinkalicious

Emma Grace LOVES the book Pinkalicious. In the story the little girl makes pick cupcakes with her Mommy. She eats far too many, and turns Pink!!! At first it’s great, but then she realizes that she is beautiful just the way she it.
When Mike’s parents came to visit Emma Grace asked Grandma if she would help her Make pink cupcakes. She was sure to add that they should only eat one, because “we are beautiful already.”

Logan, I’m just going to tell you, because you may find out someday anyway, we did not celebrate your 2nd birthday on the 28th of Oct.
I’m sorry, son, Daddy was out of town, Alyssa had her 4th grade musical, and Mommy had to teach TaVaci. I did kiss you lots on your birthday, but I did not sing “Happy Birthday” to you until you woke up on the 29th. Please forgive us. We love you very much.

While Logan’s birthday did not get celebrated until the 29th, he did have a great day. Mike brought home a new bucket of sand. Keep in mind that by “bucket” I mean a ton, and when I say “ton” I truly mean 1,000 pounds of sand! I think it was his favorite gift.

His birthday party was held at Rabitt Hill Park. Logan just loves to play outside, so I decided that a play date at the park with his sisters and friends and Grandma and Grandpa and Mom and Dad would be the best thing to do.

Logan LOVES trucks. So, we went with a construction theme. Good thing too, because I think he received every known truck for his birthday. He loves every single one and can name every single one.

Logan pitched a fit when we ordered the cake because he didn't get to keep the trucks.

We love our Logan. He brings an element to our family that we were missing. He’s as sweet and the day is long. He can sing in his manly voice “Happy Birthday” like it’s nobodies business. He can knock over a tower, sand castle, or sister in a blink of an eye. He is “the boy” and we all love him to bits.

In Ashton Idaho, the first family dog that I remember was a shaggy, kind of black and white salty collie sheep dog named "Pepper". It’s main purpose in life was protecting us kids from any strangers that might be walking past. His bark was a lot worst than his bit, but he did his job.
It seemed like we had a cat around the house most of the time when we lived in Driggs. The first little kitten that became a part of the family was a small Calico Cat. Mom would tell us a story of the Calico Cat and the ???? Dog. I can’t remember the dog at the moment, but the story ended with the Calico Cat being smarter than the ???? Dog. My brother Bruce loved “Do Do”, that was the cats name. He would carry the cat right around the neck in a good chock hold. It should have killed the cat, but it didn’t. Mom would say, “If it was hurting the cat, the cat would squirm out of it”. Anyway Do Do didn’t die from Bruce’s chock hold.

For my 11th birthday in Driggs, I got a horse. A Shetland horse. They stand about one half the size of a big horse. I thought it was just right for my size. He became my best friend. I’d ride her around the town to all my friends when I need to go to their house. I had a friend, Brent Foster. He lived up where the new high school is now located. He had several horses. He’d ride together.
The horse’s name was “Tiny”, because he was tiny. But he would keep up with the big horses all the way. One summer Tiny was trained to pull a small 4-wheel cart. It was fun to give the neighborhood friends a ride.

4th grade musical

Harbins Elementary has adopted Steven Covey's 7 habits of happy kids. To help get everybody excited about the new focus, the 4th grade put on a musical. Poor Mrs. Miller, (music teacher), she is resposible for the Christmas chorus concert as well. She did a really great job figuring everything out. However, it seems that she needed some raw talent to sing the duet "pass it on". Enter Alyssa Baugh and Natalia Andrade. A week prior to show time, I got a post-it note saying that Alyssa was needed to sing and could she stay for rehearsal. The song was perfect.

The message was about how a possitive attitude is contageous. I was so proud of my little girlie. Of course, I didn't actually get to see the live performance because it was on Thursday. =0( But, Savannah recorded it for me, Mike made it back from Kansas in time to see, and Grandma and Grandpa Baugh were visiting from Utah. So, she had a really great support system.

I'm grateful for Mrs. Miller. She is a funny lady, but she always makes my kids feel special and talented and like the show would be a complete flop if they weren't there.

Trick-Or-Treat

Halloween fell on a Sunday this year. Bummer. So, the ward Trunk-or-Treat was my kids big chance to dress-up and beg for candy.

We had a modge podge of outfits going on. Savannah and Gabby and Peyton wanted to be the "wonderland gang". Alyssa wanted to be a Christmas elf. Emma Grace and Logan were going to be cowboys. Logan refused to put his costume on. He had been wearing it all week, but got cold feet at the last minute.

Emma Grace decided to add a little girly touch to her look. A tiara and a bit of make-up were just the ticket. I'm glad she did. It made the pictures of her with Cozette just that much cuter.

We really thought that because of the "Sunday Halloween thing" that the ward would schedule the party for Friday or Saturday. Nope. Wednesday night. Mike was in Kansas. I felt really bad he didn't get to see his kids in the duds.

The party was fun. Our ward has a great activities commitee. Savannah and her crew won the best costume for the girls. I was a little surprised Alyssa didn't win anything. Logan and Emma Grace were impressed that all the adults were just sitting there waiting to give them candy. Awesome!

I sewed Alyssa and Savannah and Kayleigh's costumes. I'm pretty proud of myself. They all looked REALLY cute.

Savannah's gym hosted a meet! It's been kind of nice to be at a gym that doesn't do meets, because they're a pain to pull off. However, because I'm an allstar mom and declined membership in the booster club, I wasn't required to work the meet. (Mother of the Year!)

The goal for this meet was for Savannah and the rest of her team mates to score over a 31.0 all-around. If they could accomplish this they can move up to the Prep-Op level.

While we had our ups and downs, all of the girls qualified for the next level of competition. Congratulations, Savannah! We love you.

When one stops the other begins

Savannah will get her Herpst appliance taken out the first of December!!! Yeah!!! She will then have a rest period until all ehr baby teeth fall out.

Meanwhile, Alyssa has just begun her orthodontict journey. She is looking forward to expanders on the top and bottom. Thankfully, no Herpst. I was glad that Dr. Evans made a big point to tell Alyssa that what she needed was not nearly as hard as what her sister has.
